Last weekend we made a trip to St. Paul for the Firkin Fest. While in town we visited Hudson, WI and Woodbury, MN to pick up some beer to bring home. The craft beer scene in the Twin Cities is very good and is constantly growing. Read this article from the Pioneer Press for an update on craft beers in Minnesota.
First stop was Casanova Liquors in Hudson, WI. It is right across the St. Croix River and is right off I94.
They have a good selection of craft beers which are not available in South Dakota including Founders, Oskar Blues, Stone, Victory, New Glarus and Dogfish Head.
I was able to pick up a good selection of Oskar Blues including the new GUBNA.
We headed back west to Woodbury, MN and stopped at Cellars. We couldn’t leave the area without some Surly Furious. The clerk was very helpful and insisted we keep the Furious on ice to maintain the quality. The Surly representative must be strict with their accounts to maintain fresh quality beer! We also found some 21st Amendment beers and Magic Hat #9 for Sue. See the picture below for a picture of our haul.
