What’s a South Dakota beer law or regulations you’d like to see changed?
During the 2017 South Dakota Legislative Session we saw the changes made that we wanted.

What’s unique about your brewery / beer?
Brewmaster Sandi also wears the hat of our Winemaker at Prairie Berry Winery. With over 15 years of commercial fermentation experience and degrees in biology and chemistry, she is able to create some of the most uniquely crafted beers available not only in South Dakota, but the country. Some of her experimental beers include both wine-beer and kombucha-beer hybrids. We also have an extensive barrel-aging program where we use retired wine barrels from Prairie Berry Winery.

What local ingredients do you use?
We want to showcase as much of the uniqueness of South Dakota as possible using local ingredients when we can. From local honey to handpicked wild fruits such as chokeberries, buffaloberries, and rosehips to indigenous yeast and hops, it all comes from South Dakota; even the wheat for our Wheat beer comes from Sandi’s family farm near Mobridge, SD.

We emphasize keeping beer fresh and heavily rely on the pure mountain water we get directly from our well near the brewery in Hill City. The water is the most important ingredient in crafting our Miner Brewing craft beers, it’s from the water that we get our unique flavors and distinctive style.

Final thoughts?
Miner Brewing craft beers are also available at our Sioux Falls location, Prairie Berry East Bank, on Brewer’s Row in downtown Sioux Falls.
