What’s a South Dakota beer law or regulations you’d like to see changed?
We are very interested to see legislation about self distribution in the state. We want to share our product with more people while preserving quality and benefiting local industry.
What’s unique about your brewery / beer?
You can only get Hay Camp Beers at Hay Camp! We feature session beers served only in imported Spiegelau glassware to provide a specific taste, aroma, and visual experience. In the very near future we plan to provide a variety of cask condition ales served on a traditional “Beer Engine” tap. At Hay Camp you will find a specific, all inclusive craft beer experience that is elevated but accessible – plus some damn good beer.
What local ingredients do you use?
Currently water and the local coffees we have used to make our coffee collaboration beers. In a good season we’ve also been know to have some of our own backyard hops in the Randal!
Our primary goal is to provide the “flavor experience.” We have control of all senses when you come to our tavern and strive to provide a premium experience. Our tap room also features hand crafted tables, booths, and bar. Much of wood was repurposed form Homestake mine and we used local wood craftsmen for all construction. We feature local art and South-Dakota roasted coffee in our Coffee Shop. We hope to be a business that not only crafts fine beer, but crafts the community in which we live.
