The Great River Brewery of Davenport, IA makes 483 Pale Ale. It is packaged in 16 ounce cans/4 packs, and I found it at Taylor’s Pantry (Good Spirits) in Sioux Falls for $7.49. The beer is named after mile marker 483 on the Mississippi River. Centennial hops are used during the boil and then the beer is dry hopped with Cascade hops. Pale and crystal malts are on the malt bill.
(As a comparison Sierra Nevada Pale Ale has a 5.6% ABV and 37 IBUs)
The beer pours out a medium amber into a pint glass with a fair sized off white head. This is a nicely balanced beer with the aroma/taste a nice mixture of malt and hops. This is a very drinkable beer and it would make a good session beer since the alcohol content isn’t real high. I liked it and will certainly buy it again! It should pair well with most pub foods.
