Hopsession Super Pale Ale is the new offering from Brau Brothers Brewing, Lucan, MN. It is a mixture of pale malt, wheat and a small amount of caramel malt. The hop mix includes Citra, Zythos and HBC 342. It has relatively low alcohol content which makes it a good session choice, but it still has a nice citrus flavor to help make it refreshing on a summer afternoon. It will be on store shelves starting June 15. I was lucky to get a six pack from Richard Drawdy who attended Brau Fest June 2. The price should be around $8/six pack.
ABV = 4.2%
IBUs = 30
The beer pours out gold with a nice white head into a pint glass. There is a nice light hop aroma and taste of citrus and mango. The mouthfeel is light and refreshing. This is a nice summer beer and a good effort for a session beer.
The beer paired well with the teriyaki shrimp Sue prepared for supper last Sunday.
This a good summer beer and one many will want to enjoy!
