There were eight beer stations with 52 beers. Many of the selections were only available at the fest. The choices varied from IPAs to Belgian styles to Russian Imperial Stouts. Several beers from Gandy Dancer Brew Works were available. My favorite was The Abyss from Deschutes Brewing.
Music and games added to the event.
Ross and Chad from Taylor’s Pantry (Good Spirits) demonstrated homebrewing techniques.
Derek Fernholz (@fernholz) of Blend Interactive made a special web based app for the event . The app listed all 52 special beers on tap and enabled participants to rate the beers sampled. Watch Cory Myers’ blog of the Argus Leader next week for a summary of Derek’s app. Good work Derek!
I was glad to have an open Saturday so I could attend Beervana 2013. I have had conflicts with professional meetings the last couple years. I would highly recommend this event for good beer and fun. See you next year at Beervana 2014!
