Beer Review – Samuel Adams Noble Pils

Samuel Adams Noble Pils

The Boston Beer Company makes Samuel Adams Noble Pils.  This beer is a spring seasonal release and is a Bohemian Pilsner.  Five varieties of Noble hops are used , but this isn’t a “hoppy” beer such as most India Pale Ales (IPAs).  It is easily found in stores and has less than 6% ABV.  This makes it a good session beer.  The company recommends pairing this beer with a variety of foods including nachos, guacamole, smoked salmon, Indian dishes and lasagna.

The beer cost $7.99 for a six pack at the Brookings Liquor Store.  It pours out clear gold into a pint glass.  There is a one finger white head.  It has a light citrus/floral hop aroma and taste.  The hops and malt are nicely balanced.  It is a nice easy drinking beer.  It is my recommendation for the Superbowl because of the good taste, good food pairing ability and relatively low alcohol content.
